Sozopol Fiction Seminars - 2010

SOZOPOL, 27-31 May

The Sozopol’s seminar line-up includes:

  • Creative writing workshops led by Elizabeth Kostova and Alec Popov;
  • Guest-lectures by Alex Miller and Kristin Dimitrova;
  • Translation workshops with the special participation of Chad Post (Open Letter Books, U.S.), Christopher Merrill (the International Writing Program at The University of Iowa, U.S.), Francis Bickmore (Canongate, UK), Richard Arndt (Lois Roth Endowment, U.S.), the winners of the Dyankov Translation Award for 2009 Milen Rouskov and Nadya Radulova etc.
  • Literary readings by the American and the Bulgarian writers.

Sofia’s event line-up features:

  • Roundtable on Literary diplomacy with the participation of American and Bulgarian writers, editors, publishers, translators and critics.
  • Literary readings of the Sozopol Fiction Seminar’s fellows.
  • Lecture by Alex Miller.

The event takes place with the kind support of the America for Bulgaria Foundation, The American Foundation for Bulgaria, The Cultural Institute, the National Fund “Culture”, the U.S. Embassy, and in collaboration with the Municipality of Sozopol and the Art Gallery of Sozopol.
