Zdravka Evtimova

Zdravka Evtimova was born in 1959 in Bulgaria.

In her native country she has published several books of fiction.

Her short stories have appeared in American journals such as Antioch Review, Massachusetts Review, the anthology “New Sudden Fiction” etc. as well as in various journals in UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Austria, Japan, Russia, India, Denmark, Czech Republic, Poland, Argentina, Turkey, Romania, New Zeeland, Nigeria and Serbia.

Her short story collection, “Bitter Sky” was publish by “Skrev Press” UK, 2003, her short story collection “Somebody Else” was published by MAG Press, San Diego, California in 2004, her novel “God of Traitors” was published by “Books for a Buck Press”, Texas, USA in 2006, her short story collection “Miss Daniella” was published by Skrev Press, UK in April 2007. Her short story “Vassil” was one of the fifteen winning stories in the BBC world short story competition in 2005. Her short story “It’s Your Turn” was one of the 10 prize winning stories in the worldwide short story competition “Utopia 2005” in Nantes, France. Her short story “200 000” won the special prize in the short story competition “Lege Artis” in Leipzig, Germany, 2000.

Zdravka lives in Brussels, Belgium and works as a literary translator. She is married and has three children.
