Ben George
Ben George is the editor of the literary magazine Ecotone and the editorial director of Lookout Books. He is also a former editor at Tin House, and did freelance work for Random House and Harcourt, among other publishers. The debut title for Lookout Books, Edith Pearlman’s Binocular Vision: New and Selected Stories, won the National Book Critics Circle Award, and was a finalist for the National Book Award, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and the Story Prize. Stories and essays George has edited have won the Pushcart Prize and the O. Henry Prize, and have been reprinted in Best American Short Stories, Best American Mystery Stories, Best American Essays, Best American Nonrequired Reading, and New Stories from the South. He is the author of The Book of Dads: Essays on the Joys, Perils, and Humiliations of Fatherhood (2009).
George lives in North Carolina with his wife and daughter, and teaches at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
